Christine Gorman is a third generation hobby farmer living and working on her family-owned farm on the Mornington Peninsula. She has been breeding Saanen dairy goats for over 30 years and has extensive experience with sheep, cattle, poultry and far too many dogs.

In a past life, Christine was a secondary biology, science and mathematics teacher, but post children has focused more deeply on agriculture, adding a Diploma of Agriculture to her list of academic achievements.

Christine is passionate about helping new hobby farmers avoid some of the more common pitfalls of farming. She runs her own business Calmer Farmer – working 1:1 with her clients to teach them how to understand their farm’s capabilities to maximise productivity, and prevent time and money waste by planning for the future.

When she is not actively farming, Christine can be found writing about her farm experiences, teaching farming skills, or just being a mum to her three tweenage offspring.’
