Macherey Nagel Multisticks for aquariums. These test strips measure carbonate hardness, total hardness and pH. All 3 parameters are measured on each strip. Carbonate hardness is the alkalinity expressed in terms of (mainly) calcium and magnesium in water. Therefore it is the hardness the is assumed to originate from dissolving of carbonates. The strips measure carbonate hardness in the range 0, 3, 6, 10, 15 and 20 deg d. This is the same as 0, 53.4, 106.8, 178, 267 and 356 ppm as CaCO3. Total hardness is measured as 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, & 25 deg d. This is equivalent to 0, 89, 178, 267, 356 & 445 ppm as CaCO3. pH is measured in range and steps 6.4, 6.8, 7.2, 7.6, 8.0 & 8.4. There are 100 strips per vial.
