Carbonate hardness is also called carbonate alkalinity or just alkalinity. It expresses the bicarbonate in water that originally came from dissolving calcium and magnesium carbonates. The alkalinity is expressed as CaCO3. There are 100 tests in the vial. Measures carbonate hardness in the range 0, 3, 6, 10, 15 and 20 deg d. This is the same as 0, 53.4, 106.8, 178, 267 and 356 ppm as CaCO3.
