Bacteria test kits

Same kits as the Coliscan kit x 3 but now with 10 complete tests. This is the test you can do at home or in the classroom to test for E. coli and coliform bacteria. Price includes 10 complete tests. This test is best as a screening test for water resources. These tests calculate actual numbers of both E coli and coliform bacteria (as CFU's) per 100 ml. E coli is fecal bacteria from warm blooded animals. Simply add up to 5 mL of the water you wish to test to the Coliscan medium and pour into the Easygel petri dish and then incubate. There are 3 complete tests in this kit which let you estimate the total number of bacteria in your source water. This is also known as Aerobic Plate Count. It is a good way to monitor your water quality and is a better indicator of overall contamination. The tests are designed to be carried out at home by everyday folks. The kit includes 3 media bottles, 3 dishes, 3 droppers and 3 sterile sample bottles. Kits come with instructions and tell you how to calculate numbers. Results in 24 hrs if kept warm. These kits can also be used to test air quality by pouring the media into the dish then exposing the dish. They can also be used for applications like checking for adequate sanitation in food handling. Just moisten a cotton bud in the media bottle, swab the sample eg a benchtop, then squeeze / press out the cottton bud in the media bottle, pour the media and incubate.
